For some time now, people have been talking about Donald Trump’s health. Rumors are flying regarding potential dementia, along with concerns about his swollen ankles and bruised hands, leading many to speculate that his health might be declining.
Recently, an advisor linked with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared a startling theory addressing these very topics.
The narrative around Trump’s possible dementia has gained traction mainly among his critics. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker recently joined in on this speculation, following a trend set by numerous others.
In addition, public curiosity has been piqued by his purportedly bruised hands—dismissed by the White House as a result of frequent handshakes—and his swollen ankles.

Back in July, Trump underwent a comprehensive medical examination, including vascular assessments conducted by White House physicians.
According to his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, there was mild swelling noted in Trump’s lower legs. Dr. Barbabella explained, “The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including vascular diagnostics. Ultrasounds of both legs revealed chronic venous insufficiency—a common condition, especially in those over 70.”
Dr. Barbabella assured that there was no deep vein thrombosis or arterial issues, which would have posed more significant health threats. All of Trump’s blood tests returned normal results, and an echocardiogram ruled out heart failure, kidney problems, or other systemic issues, effectively clearing him of any major health concerns.
Enter Dr. Aseem Malhotra, a British cardiologist known for his controversial views. Recently, he has advised the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) group, and his opinions have faced criticism from numerous health experts and organizations, including the British Heart Foundation.
According to reports by The Daily Beast, Dr. Malhotra reached out to Trump’s team with concerns regarding Trump’s health—but not regarding potential brain fog or swelling. Instead, he raised alarms about medications, specifically statins and aspirin.
In his conversation with The Beast, Dr. Malhotra speculated, “I’ve come across reports suggesting Trump displays signs of dementia, and yes, he faces chronic venous insufficiency causing swelling in his ankles and hands. However, I don’t subscribe to the dementia theory; it could be side effects from statins making him fatigued and drowsy.”
Dr. Malhotra also reportedly praised Trump as being “almost superhuman” during a discussion at the European Parliament, streamed live on the “Make Europe Healthy Again” platform.
He elaborated, “If I were overseeing his health care, I’d refine his medical regimen, primarily by eliminating aspirin and cholesterol medications. These could be reducing his life expectancy and sapping his vitality.”
He pointed out that given Trump’s test results indicating no significant vascular issues, the risk of excessive bleeding from aspirin outweighs its potential benefits in preventing heart attacks or strokes.
Of course, a word of caution: never alter your medication regimen without consulting with your healthcare provider.
