Trump Catches Flak for Nodding Off During Marathon Cabinet Meeting

Trump Faces Criticism for Dozing Off During Lengthy Cabinet Meeting – Labeled as the “Commander in Sleep”

Throughout his long career, Donald Trump has cultivated an image of tireless energy, often boasting about how he needs minimal sleep while still managing to outwork those around him.

For the past couple of years, he has been unrelenting in his portrayal of Joe Biden as “Sleepy Joe,” even going to the extent of replacing the usual presidential portrait in the White House with a large photo of Bidenโ€™s autopen. “He sleeps all the time โ€“ day, night, on the beach,” Trump would often quip. “Iโ€™m not a sleeper.”

Yet, it seems the tables have turned, as the internet had its fun at Trumpโ€™s expense when the 79-year-old president seemed to doze off mid-sentence yesterday.

During Tuesdayโ€™s extensive Cabinet meeting, which stretched to two hours and seventeen minutes, Trump asked each member to highlight their achievements from his second termโ€™s first year.

About an hour and a half in, with secretaries making their reports, cameras caught Trump with his eyes drooping and head slightly nodding, the universal sign of struggling to stay awake during an extended meeting.

The incident quickly went viral on social media platforms. Labels like “Commander in Sleep,” and “Dozy Don,” alongside clips of Trump previously mocking Biden for similar behavior, emerged swiftly.

Not taking the jokes lightly, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the president, insisting he was “listening attentively” throughout and personally directed the entire “three-hour marathon” meeting (despite a discrepancy with someone’s timekeeping).

She suggested doubters to revisit Trumpโ€™s concluding remarks where he criticized “radical Somali migrants” and some Democratic lawmakers to see he was as alert as ever.

Recently, Trumpโ€™s health has become a topic of discussion, with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz challenging him to make his MRI results public.

In response, the White House released these findings on Monday, deeming them “perfectly normal.” At the meeting, Trump dismissed concerns, saying, “Iโ€™ll let you know if somethingโ€™s off… Right now, I believe I’m sharper than I was 25 years ago โ€“ but who can be sure.”

No matter where one stands on Trump, this incident seems like a moment of poetic justice, especially for those who recall the relentless “Sleepy Joe” rhetoric. The digital world doesn’t forget โ€“ and it certainly never sleeps.
