When a young soldier was killed, his family was devastated. He was adored and much lost. His relatives would pay repeated visits to his grave. They noticed the grass around his grave plot was much greener than usual one day in 2015. None of them expected the truth behind the beautiful grass, despite their thoughts of miracles. The late soldier’s mother discovered a secret caretaker who had been tending to her son’s grave one day.

Love unlike every other
Some partnerships are truly the stuff of best-selling romance novels. That is exactly what one couple had. A love without any strings attached. They cared profoundly for one another till the end, and their love endured even beyond death.

For the past 65 years, Jake and Elizabeth Reissig had been married. They were madly in love with each other up until she died. Roger, one of their sons, told CBS News that his mother was always dressed properly, and his father thought she was lovely. “She was lovely to him,” he remarked.

When Jake and Liz first married, he began a tradition that he continued after she died. Jake would bring his wife a rose every day. Jake would wander into his rose garden every day after she died. He would pluck a rose from the bushes and carry it to the cemetery where she was laid to rest. He would then set it on her grave site.

He cared after her burial spot.
Texas was suffering from a severe drought in 2015. Jake couldn’t stand by and watch his wife’s cemetery plot grass get brown and crispy. So he bought a garden hose and began watering the grass twice a day. Liz’s burial’s grass was notably greener than the grass on the other grave plots.

Jake couldn’t help but notice a woman kneeling next to a cemetery not far from his wife’s. Jake wanted to soothe her because she was crying. So he went up to the grave and discovered that it belonged to her brother, Joseph Anthony Villasenor. He served in the United States Air Force. He died in 2010 after serving his country for 16 years. He was only 36 at the time. He was a sports fan, according to his family. and he was killed in a car accident on his way to a softball game.

Jacob understood the woman’s anguish because he had experienced grief himself. He wanted to do something to help the bereaved family. Being in his 80s, there wasn’t much he could say to make up for their loss. Jake, on the other hand, had something he could do for the family.

The unknown caregiver
The Villasenor family was speechless the following time they visited their son’s grave place. The grass around his tomb was much greener than it had been since their last visit. Their initial reaction was that it was a complete miracle. They had not engaged a gardener to care for the tomb, so they were perplexed as to why it was so much greener.

Jake turned out to be the miracle worker and secret caregiver. When the Villasenors finally caught him in the act, he gave himself away. As they went to visit their son’s burial, they noticed Jake watering the grass surrounding his memorial spot. That was an emotional time, with much of hugging. Jake’s compassion for someone he didn’t know astounded the late soldier’s mother. Jake provided her the hose so she could personally water her son’s grave.
