Co-star Kirstie Allsopp has stated that Location, Location, Location presenter Phil Spencer’s parents had perished in a vehicle accident.

Anne and David Spencer, the TV star’s parents, died in a car accident on Friday close to their Kent home, according to Allsopp.

A representative for Kent Police said: “Officers responded along with other emergency services, and an elderly couple was brought to a nearby hospital where they were later declared dead.

“There was a third person in the car, a woman in her 60s, who was hurt slightly.

The report will now be prepared for the coroner after the next of kin has been notified.

Allsopp posted an homage to the pair and a photo of them taken at their house on social media.

She added, “I am so saddened to have to tell that Anne & David Spencer were both murdered yesterday in a car accident near their home. This gorgeous shot was recently taken at their home in Kent.

“They were farmers, animal lovers, loving grandparents to their 8 grandchildren, and devoted parents to Robert, Caryn, Helen, and Philip. The one blessing is that they passed away simultaneously, so they won’t have to experience separation grief.

“I think a lot of you will want to join me in sending Phil and his family our deepest sympathies.

“Thank you, please keep them in your prayers and thoughts.”

For more than 20 years, Spencer and Allsopp co-hosted the Channel 4 program Location, Location, Location.

In a separate statement to The Sun, Allsopp said: “I’ve spoken to Phil and it’s awful for the Spencer family, but his parents were together, and it’s something that is a huge source of solace to them all.

The family is incredibly close and loving.

They have eight grandchildren in addition to their four children, Phil, Robert, Caryn, and Helen.

Although the entire family must be devastated, they were all together in the end and were great people.

“They were in the area they loved, with the person they loved, on their way to the pub on a Friday afternoon in Kent, where they lived.

They both identified as Christians.

In this trying time, Phil and his siblings are offering one another support.
