However, a feminist researcher claims that the film is deficient in actual speaking female characters.

On Twitter, Dr. Tanya Roth criticized the box office success, claiming that there are almost no female voices in the opening.

She tweeted, “Fun fact: no women speak until 20 minutes into Oppenheimer and then there’s a sex scene within a minute.”

The movie, according to Dr. Roth, does not adequately reflect persons of color.

She added to her tweet, “To add to this: no people of color appear for at least 30 minutes, and I believe there are only two Black guys in the entire movie.

The movie, which was made under Christopher Nolan’s direction, examines J. Robert Oppenheimer’s life as the inventor of the atomic bomb.

Oppenheimer is portrayed by Cillian Murphy, and Jean Tatlock, his tormented lover, is portrayed by Florence Pugh. The movie also stars Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, and Emily Blunt.

On the internet, Dr. Roth’s tweet drew criticism.

One guy said, “It must be exhausting to be this miserable.”

“Anyone who says ‘fun fact’ is never actually saying anything fun and is always annoying,” one person commented. The film is historical.

A third responded, “Should history have been altered to better reflect your feelings? That encapsulates everything that is wrong right now. What does that word signify, do you know?

Then Dr. Roth reiterated what she had said.

Florence Pugh can be seen topless in at least two sequences, one of which is a sex scene, she added in a tweet.

Fun fact: I timed seven minutes, 35 seconds before a male spoke in Barbie, she continued. Nothing sexual.

The only movie Nolan has directed with a sexual scene is Oppenheimer.

He admitted to Insider that he felt ‘nervous’ about entering uncharted ground.

“You should be appropriately nervous, careful, planned, and prepared whenever you’re challenging yourself to work in areas you haven’t worked in before,” he said.

The renowned director claimed that examining the relationship between Oppenheimer and Tatlock was essential to the success of the film.

“When you look at Oppenheimer’s life and you look at his story, that aspect of his life, the aspect of his sexuality, his way with women, and the charm that he exuded, it’s an essential part of his story,” he said to Insider.

He said, “It felt very important to understand their relationship, to really see inside of it, and to understand what made it tick without being coy or allusive about it, but to try to be intimate, to try and be in there with him, and fully understand the relationship that was so important to him.”

Oppenheimer is currently playing in theaters all around the world.
