Kellie Pickler is devastated by her husband Kyle Jacobs’ suicide, which was judged to be a suicide. He was 49.

When Nashville police and firefighters arrived to the scene, they discovered the songwriter “dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

“His death is being investigated as a homicide.”

The 36-year-old country singer and SiriusXM’s The Highway anchor said she awoke shortly before Jacobs but couldn’t find him. According to the statement, she and her personal assistant called the police after being unable to enter a specific room in the property.

The day before his death, Jacobs shared a joyous Instagram post in which he announced that Lee Brice’s Hey World had been certified platinum.

Jacobs went to Nashville from Minneapolis in the year 2000, according to Music City Hitmakers.

He wrote the songs “More Than Memory” (a 2007 hit for Garth Brooks) and “Still” (a 2010 hit for Tim McGraw).

Kelly Clarkson, Randy Travis, Scotty McCreery, Josh Kelley, and Clay Walker are among the celebrities with whom Jacobs has worked.

During the course of his career, Jacobs has received three award nominations, as well as a Country Music Association and an Academy of Country Music award.

Pickler and Jacobs married in a surprise ceremony on January 1, 2011.

After dating since 2008, the couple married on June 15, 2010, when Jacobs proposed while on vacation in Florida.

“It was the most spiritual moment of my life.” Pickler, who rose to prominence on American Idol, said of the suggestion. “We would have married that night if a pastor had passed by!”

Pickler tweeted a few days after her wedding, “Private Island, Caribbean.” In one hand, a cigar; in the other, rum. Someone just addressed me as “Mrs. Jacobs.”….sounds nice:)”
