Submissions for the National Geographic 2019 Travel Photo Contest are being accepted now through May 3, 2019, at noon Eastern Standard Time. The contest opened on March 18. The newspaper has released a few entries from the previous week each week. The photos from week four include a split-shot of a young humpback whale, a mother loon feeding her brood, and skiers careening down the French Alps while wearing headlamps.

The three entry categories are people, cities, and nature. The grand prize winner will also earn $7,500 and a feature on National Geographic’s travel Instagram account. You may read more about the required subject matter and the entry process on the Travel Photo Contest website.
