President Donald Trump’s recent televised address has stirred up concerns about his health, with some doctors describing his behavior during the speech as “manic.”
While Trump is known for his daily appearances, which are usually composed, his latest appearance caught attention due to his shouting directly at the camera and the American public. The address, limited to just 18 minutes, was also criticized for containing questionable information.
Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist and professor at George Washington University, as well as a medical analyst for CNN, expressed his worries in a post on X, stating that it was “jarring” to see Trump race through a “30-minute speech… in 18 minutes,” adding his serious concern about the president’s health.
In a conversation on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, Dr. Reiner elaborated on his belief that there might be significant health concerns for the president.
Describing Trumpโs Delivery as Disturbing
Dr. Reiner described Trump’s delivery as having a “maniac cadence,” which he found very concerning, “The content itself was nothing out of the ordinary, but the delivery was manic, almost rushed. Like listening to a podcast at double speed. This kind of delivery was very unsettling, especially as the address continued his speech became even quicker,” he said. It was unusual and concerning, especially given his role as commander-in-chief. “To see him with such an uncontrolled pace is disturbing,” Reiner stated.

Past questions about Donald Trump’s health have been raised due to reports of swollen ankles and bruised hands. Dr. Reiner suggests that the White House should be more transparent about Trumpโs health, “This isnโt something we should overlook.”
He cited instances of Trump seemingly falling asleep during meetings, causing increased daytime somnolence, which can be caused by conditions like sleep apnea.
“Typically, this is treated with a CPAP mask. However, weโve never been informed that Trump suffers from sleep apnea. It’s unsettling to observe him appear almost asleep at one moment and then exhibit a rapid pace during a speech,” Dr. Reiner commented.

Recently, Professor Davidson, a medical expert from Washington State Universityโs college of medicine, suggested that Trump may have suffered a stroke affecting the right side of his body.
“I believe the stroke occurred on the left side of the brain, which controls the right side,” Davidson shared with Sidney Blumenthal and Princeton historian Sean Wilentz on their podcast, The Court of History.
He continued, “The stroke may have happened around six months ago, early in 2025. There are observations of him shuffling his feet, a departure from his prior strides on the golf course.
Recently, we’ve noticed him holding his right hand carefully with his left.” Additionally, Davidson noted Trump’s previously garbled speech, which was unusual and has reportedly improved since.
He noted Trump’s record of falling asleep during public appearances and proposed it as another potential symptom of a stroke. Davidson referred to video footage showing Trump descending Air Force One while gripping the handrail with his left hand, although he is right-handed. “This behavior might be consistent with a stroke affecting the left side of the brain,” mentioned Davidson.
While these insights are based on Professor Davidson’s analysis, nothing official about Trump’s recent health status has been released by the White House.
