Despite her friends’ jeers, Nicole Kidman has admitted to having a spiritual side and attending church with her family.

The acclaimed Australian actress, who primarily resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her family, attends church on a regular basis.

Nicole is raising her two children, Sunday and Faith, to trust in God with her husband, country music legend Keith Urban.

The 54-year-old “Big Little Lies” and “Undoing” actress was raised in an Irish Catholic environment and maintains her faith to this day. Her grandmother had a tremendous influence on her life, she says.

“I had a very Catholic grandma, and I was raised praying, so it had a huge influence,” she explained. “I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s always questioning-I’m a headstrong, feisty girl. It’s critical for me not to have any judgment. “As my father always said, ‘Tolerance is the most important thing.’”

Nicole Kidman confirmed to Allure magazine in 2018 that she had pondered becoming a nun.

“I’m spiritual in the sense that I totally believe in God,” she told the site before adding that the idea of becoming a nun piqued her interest. “I was fascinated by the concept of becoming a nun. Obviously, I did not select that road, but it was very appealing to me.”

That powerful religiosity has never left her, and even though her friends ridicule her, she is raising her daughters Sunday Rose, born in 2008, and Faith Margaret, born in 2010, in the church.

“A lot of my friends mock me,” she remarked of the Kidman-Urbans’ regular church attendance. “That is how we raise our children. Keith has his own values, but he comes as well,” she explained to Vanity Fair.

She claims that some of her parental ideas make her unpopular.

“They (daughters Faith and Sunday) don’t have phones, and I don’t let them have Instagram accounts,” she explains. “I try to maintain some sort of boundary.”

Nicole also has two adopted children from her 11-year marriage to ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Adoption felt so natural to Nicole.

“My mother had an adopted sister, so that’s been part of our family and I figured it would definitely play out someplace in mine. “I didn’t expect it to happen so soon, but it did,” Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2007.
Connor, 23, and Isabelle, 25, chose to follow their father’s beliefs, but she expressed her unshakable love for them. Kidman admitted that once her children joined Scientology, she grew more away from them. In an interview with Australia’s Who Magazine, she did, however, indicate that she wished to keep her relationship with her children secret.

“I’m pretty discreet about it,” she explained. “I have to safeguard all of those relationships. I am certain that I would lose my life for my children since that is my purpose.”

Nicole and Keith, who have been married for 15 years, own a farmhouse in Australia, a penthouse in Sydney, a condo in New York, and a mansion in Los Angeles, in addition to their primary family home in Nashville. I’m glad that more public personalities may publicly voice their beliefs while emphasizing tolerance. Whatever we think, it is the key to live in harmony.
