The long-running host of The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV, Carol Duvall, has passed away at age 97.

The New York Times, which published an obituary of the celebrity on Thursday, received confirmation from the crafts queen’s family that she passed away in Traverse City, Michigan, on July 31 at the age of 97.

Duvall began her career on regional TV stations in Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan, and went on to establish a ten-year career that allowed her to gain recognition on ABC and HGTV’s arts and crafts programs.
On Instagram, HGTV paid respect to the celebrity and wrote, “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”

Maureen McCormick, a Brady Bunch actress who has appeared on a number of HGTV programs, left the following comment: “Loved her show! My sincere condolences go out to her family and friends, she said.

Others spoke about how much they had cherished the program throughout the years, referring to Carol as a “legend,” and requesting that the network air a marathon of it in her honor.

She began her broadcasting career in 1951 at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, where she oversaw a children’s program. She relocated to Detroit’s WWJ-TV and spent 18 years there in a variety of positions, including news anchor, co-producer, and host of her first DIY program. I present Carol Duvall.

This cleared the way for her first major television appearance on ABC’s The Home Show, where she served as a craft expert from 1988 to 1994. The Carol Duvall Show, which broadcast every day from 1994 to 2005, was then hosted by Duvall. Later, it transferred to the no longer exists DIY Network, where it ran until 2009.

Additionally, Duvall frequently appears as a craft expert on the Lifetime programs Our Home and Handmade by Design.

She is renowned for trying her hand at a wide variety of artistic pursuits, including rubber stamping, needlepoint, jewelry making, and quilting. She frequently also incorporated kid-friendly tasks.
