Manushi, a baby from Rajasthan, India, has been termed a “little miracle” for all the right reasons. This lovely girl was born via C-section while her mother, Seeta, 48, was just 28 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, Seeta was diagnosed with severe hypertension, and physicians found that her baby was not receiving enough blood through the placenta.

The decision to birth the baby was made shortly.

Manushi weighed only 14 ounces when she arrived in the world. Her odds of survival were limited because she was so small and most of her organs were immature, including her lungs, brain, heart, and kidneys.

Manushi’s organs developed to the point that she could be released from the neonatal intensive care unit after six months. She weighed 5.2 pounds when doctors released her.

The fight for her life, on the other hand, was not simple. Manushi was placed on a ventilator from birth, and her odds of survival were less than one percent. She, believe it or not, beat the odds.

Manushi couldn’t be fed properly since her gut was undeveloped, so physicians injected all of the necessary vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, lipids, and amino acids directly into her blood.

Manushi began breastfeeding when she was 7 weeks old, which was a good sign. She began breathing more independently at this point, and her other organs developed regularly.

Doctors were desperate to save this girl’s life in order to send a message that female children are just as essential as male children, contrary to popular belief in some parts of India.

“We decided to save the infant’s life and provide her with the appropriate medical treatment and attention because we wanted to send a message that a girl child must be protected,” said Dr. Sunil Janged, the hospital’s director. “We provided her with the medical treatment and attention she required.”

According to records, Emilia Grabarczyk, born in 2015 in Wittenberg, Germany, is the world’s smallest surviving infant, weighing only 8 ounces.

We wish Manushi a happy and healthy life.
