With the publication of Prince Harry’s all-revealing book Spare, all eyes are on him and the royal family.
“Vulnerable and sincere, bold and intimate, Spare is the story of someone we thought we knew, but now we can fully get to understand Prince Harry through his own words,” Random House Group President and Publisher Gina Centrello said.

“Based on these incredible first-day sales, people obviously agree that Spare is a book that demands to be read, and it is a book we are happy to publish,” she added.

The publisher also revealed statistics, suggesting that prince Harry’s book sold 1.4 million copies on its first day in the UK, US, and Canada. Spare has been published in 16 languages and is anticipated to be the best-selling book in 2023.

“We anticipated this book would fly, but it has beyond even our most optimistic predictions,” said Larry Finlay, managing director of Transworld Penguin Random House.

“As far as we are aware, the only books that have sold more copies on their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter).”

That, combined with Meghan and Harry’s Netflix documentary series and the quantity of interviews they gave to the media, caused their reputation among British people to sink to 24% from 80% a decade before.

The first draft of Harry’s memoir, which was ghostwritten by American writer J.R Moehringer, was 800 pages lengthy, according to Harry. “That could have been two novels,” Harry explained, adding that it could have been two books but he left a lot out.

“There are some things that have transpired, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the public to know. “Because I don’t believe they’d ever forgive me,” Harry explained.

“And there were other things I discussed with J.R. Moehringer about which I said, ‘Look, I’m telling you this for background, but there’s no way I’m putting that in there.’”

Given the memoir’s success, sources say Random House will encourage Meghan Markle to write her own autobiography.
“Nobody expected sales figures like the ones we’re seeing,” a source told Express UK, adding that the figures “caught everyone off guard.”

“Harry might easily outsell the Obamas, the company’s current joint best-selling writers. That’s why the pressure is on to have Meghan’s version of events – both with the Royal Family and with her own family members in America – in print as soon as possible, ideally early next year to pick up sales when Spare’s demand drops.

“After seeing Harry’s sales, they’re confident Meghan’s story in her own words can sell even more, particularly in the United States,” an industry insider revealed.

Despite the fact that one of the reasons Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties and left Britain behind was a desire for solitude and a more quiet existence, they haven’t ceased giving interviews and speaking of the Firm’s members.

Among other things, Harry claimed in his book that after the birth of Prince George, he wasn’t welcomed in the home of William and Kate in the way he expected, despite the fact that they lived within walking distance of one another. He also called Camilla “dangerous” and mentioned Kate and Meghan’s quarrel during Harry and Meghan’s wedding, which the world first learnt about via the notorious Oprah interview in which Meghan admitted that Kate made her weep.

According to Harry, Kate was dissatisfied with Princess Charlotte’s flower-girl dress.

Nevertheless, when Kate claimed her daughter was in agony because of the dress, which allegedly was “too huge, too long, too loose,” she declined to see Meghan’s tailor at Kensington Palace to have it changed.

“Meg inquired as to whether Kate was aware of what was going on right now. “She’s with her father,” Harry explained. “Kate stated that she was aware, but the outfits. And the wedding is just four days away!”

“I’m at a loss for words. Please take Charlotte to see Ajay if the outfit does not fit. “He’s been waiting all day,” Meghan, according to Harry, texted Kate.

“OK,” Kate said.

When Harry returned home, he discovered his then-future wife sobbing on the floor. “That was terrible, but only for a short while. “I told Kate she hadn’t intended any harm,” Harry added.
