Toco, a Japanese man, attracted attention while taking his first public walk while wearing a realistic dog costume.

His childhood ambition of “becoming an animal” became a reality after spending more than $20,000 on a personalized dog outfit.

Millions of people around the world have heard about his extraordinary trip, yet he uses the YouTube username Toco out of fear of being mocked by those who know him in real life.

In videos on the platform with subtitles, he stated, “I only told individuals who are genuinely close to me.

“The people I work with would look at me funny if I told them I wanted to be an animal.”

Many of his films have received millions of views, and Toco’s YouTube account, I Want to Be an Animal, has 43,000 subscribers and explains his lifetime ambition.

According to the firm that made the outfit, Zeppet, Toco said, “I wonder whether it was a desire for transformation.”

“I decided to order a bodysuit in the shape of a real dog to materialize the fantasy.”

Toco stated: “I have had a hazy dream of becoming an animal since I was a child” in subtitles included with YouTube video.

“I recall writing that I wanted to be a dog and go for walks outside in my graduation book from elementary school.”

When Toco went for his first walk in public as a dog last year, he made it a reality by waving to onlookers with his new hairy paws in a human fashion.

While Toco displayed some normal canine characteristics, his “quadrupedal locomotion” was a little less believable because he hasn’t explained in detail how the suit’s internal mechanics function.

Video of the event appeared to show other pets maintaining their skepticism from a distance, as walkers stopped to appreciate the unusual sighting.

Toco’s outfit has been in his possession for more than a year, but it took some time before he could wear it out in public.

He’s claimed before, “I don’t have the courage to do that.”

Toco’s preferred breed of dog served as the inspiration for the suit’s custom design, and it was chosen “because of its size” to serve as the bodysuit’s model.

He added, “The size difference with humans is not great (which) was also a deciding factor.”

According to the company’s website, Zeppet met with Toco and arranged fitting sessions. The finished piece cost 2,000,000 yen ($A21,148) and was created in 40 days.

In a customer review on the website, Toco stated that “creating a four-legged model for a two-legged human is extremely tricky, as our skeletal structure is quite different from (that of) canines.” “I was understandably concerned about the outcome because of this.

But the end outcome was magnificent after numerous studio tries and failures.
