It seems like Donald Trump has made a habit of targeting female journalists who ask questions he finds uncomfortable. This habit was on full display again on Monday when an interaction with an ABC News reporter turned heated. Over the past month, Trump has had several encounters with the press, many of which have ended with sharp words, and this was no different.
Trump has never shied away from expressing his opinion about reporters who challenge him. Just a few weeks ago, he called Catherine LaCey from Bloomberg โpiggyโ on Air Force One. Shortly after that, he described CNNโs Caitlin Collins as โnastyโ and โstupid.โ

Interestingly, none of the journalists present pushed back during these exchanges. Unfortunately, this pattern continued when Trump directed his ire at another female reporter. During a press event, ABC News Senior Political Correspondent Rachel Scott questioned Trump about his earlier statement regarding the release of footage from a strike on a suspected drug-trafficking boat off Venezuelaโs coast.
Trump Takes Aim at Another Woman in the Press
Two individuals survived the initial strike, but Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reportedly authorized a second strike that eliminated them. When Scott queried if Trump would fulfill his earlier promise to release the full video, he responded sharply.
Trump quickly retorted, dismissing Scott and her question. “I didnโt say that. You said that, I didnโt say that,” he asserted while labeling her “the most obnoxious reporter in the whole place.”
He further declared, “Let me just tell you, you are an obnoxiousโa terrible, actually a terrible reporter. And itโs always the same thing with you. I told you.” He concluded, “Whatever Pete Hegseth wants to do is OK with me.”
In his remarks, Trump also boasted about the operation, claiming it prevented 25,000 deaths from drugs and overdoses.
Calling Her โThe Most Obnoxious Reporter in the Whole Placeโ
Rachel Scott wasnโt deterred and continued to ask if he would release the video footage, as he had suggested earlier.
Trump fired back, “Didnโt I just tell you that? Youโre the most obnoxious reporter in the whole place.” This contradicted his previous statements where he suggested he was amenable to releasing the video. Just a week before, at the Reagan National Defense Forum, he had stated, “Weโre reviewing that right now.”
This incident has sparked a lot of conversations about Trump’s approach to handling reporters, especially women, during press events. Many are discussing whether his aggressive style is appropriate or effective.
The broader public seems to have mixed feelings regarding Trump’s interactions with reporters. While some believe his candor is refreshing, others see it as unnecessary hostility.
As it stands, many are curious about the status of the footage and if Trump will indeed follow through on his initial indication to release it. The incident once again raises questions about media freedom and the relationship between the press and the presidency.
What do you think about Trump’s handling of this situation? Many are sharing their thoughts and opinions on social media platforms.
