Nicolas Cage, the renowned actor, recently revealed that he finds great comfort whenever his late father, August Coppola, makes an appearance in his dreams. During the world premiere of his new film, “Dream Scenario,” at the Toronto International Film Festival, Cage opened up about the recurring figure he looks forward to seeing in his dreams. He expressed, “I always like it when my father shows up. I haven’t seen him in person since he passed on. So when he shows up, that’s always a good thing.”

Cage’s father, August Coppola, was the younger brother of the legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, known for his work on The Godfather trilogy. August unfortunately passed away from a heart attack at the age of 75 in 2009. Cage honored his father’s memory by naming his 1-year-old daughter, August Francesca Coppola.

Despite celebrating his daughter’s first birthday just a day before the premiere, Cage joyfully attended the event, jokingly sharing that he was “transported” to the Toronto International Film Festival. Speaking about the celebration, he said, “It’s becoming a tradition. She had her first, one-year birthday party yesterday. And here I am today. I’m just like sort of transported. I think it’s a good tradition. We had a nice time together yesterday.”

In addition to his daughter August, Cage is also a proud father to his sons Weston, 32, and Kal-El, 17, from previous relationships. He and his wife Riko Shibata welcomed their little girl on September 7, 2022.

The new film, “Dream Scenario,” is a collaboration between writer-director Kristoffer Borgli and co-producer Ari Aster. According to the film’s summary on the Toronto International Film Festival website, it follows the story of an anonymous-feeling professor who starts appearing in other people’s dreams, catapulting him to overnight fame. Cage’s transformation for the role, with his balding head of hair, gray beard, and glasses, has garnered attention. Alongside Cage, the film also stars Michael Cera and Julianne Nicholson.

“Dream Scenario” is set to hit theaters on November 10, offering audiences a mesmerizing cinematic experience.
