On August 2, her sister Dale Candace Forsmoe posted on Facebook that the former star of The Young and the Restless had passed away. Sharon Farrell, also known as Sharon Lee Forsmoe, passed away on May 15, 2023 in the LA Downtown Medical Center, she wrote. The sister further stated that she was unaware of Farrell’s reason of passing.

The news broke a week after the sister posted to her Facebook friends, “I have reason to believe my sister, Sharon Farrell, has died, not confirmed yet…no one contacted me.” She continued by saying she knew Farrell had been in a “care facility.”

The Hollywood Reporter received confirmation from Chance Boyer, Farrell’s son, that his mother passed away on May 15 “unexpectedly” from “natural causes.”

For her roles in the movies It’s Alive (1974), Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), Night of the Comet (1984), and Can’t Buy Me Love (1987), Farrell is most remembered. She appeared in 81 episodes of the soap opera The Young and the Restless from 1991 and 1997. On the daytime program, Farrell portrayed Florence “Flo” Webster.

Beginning her career in entertainment with the American Ballet Theater, Farrell eventually transitioned from dance to film with her debut appearance in the 1959 film Kiss Her Goodbye. Years later, the actress continued to make appearances on television in shows including Hawaii Five-0, The Name of the Game, and Broken at Love, which debuted in 2014. This was the actress’ final effort.
