Despite the fact that the proposal didn’t turn out as expected, one couple will always remember their memorable beach engagement.

According to a recent Facebook post from the Myrtle Beach Police Department, a guy from Tennessee stopped down Myrtle Beach Patrol Officer Josh Lively on Saturday and claimed to have “lost his engagement ring in the sand.”

The man claimed to Lively that they were snapping pictures along the beach at several areas when he “realized the ring had fallen out of his pocket,” according to police.

According to authorities, Lively and officers Sean Owens and Zachary Stashick swiftly inspected the locations where the pair took images. After that, K-9 Goggles and Officer Shon McCluskey joined the search “as a training exercise” for the dog.

When a witness heard what was going on, according to police, they “jumped into action with metal detector in hand.”

NBC affiliate WYFF-TV identified the good Samaritan as 15-year-old Isaiah Krekeler on Friday.

The native of Ohio told the television station that while “hanging out with friends,” “someone walks over and says, Hey, someone lost a ring over there.”

The ring was located in around 45 seconds, according to Krekeler, who said it was his first time using a metal detector on the beach.

He claimed that the woman gave him a hug after receiving the ring. The teen jokingly said, “I felt like I saved a marriage.”

Police did not identify the couple, but they did record that the woman replied “Yes!”

The police stated that “the Myrtle Beach community pulls together anytime, anywhere, for anyone.” We wish the newlyweds all the best for the future.
