JamieLynn and AmieLynn Finley, twins born in October 2022, were separated after an 11-hour surgery in January and have now returned to Texas.

A Texas family is commemorating the life of their formerly conjoined twin girls.

JamieLynn and AmieLynn Finley, 6 months, were born on October 3, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Amanda Arciniega and James Finley. Three months later, the couple became Cook Children’s Hospital Center’s first set of conjoined twins to be separated.

JamieLynn was the first to leave the hospital on March 21, followed by AmieLynn on April 7, according to a news release from the hospital.

According to Good Morning America, who obtained footage of the wonderful event, their family celebrated with a unique baby shower last weekend.

Brianne Galban, a nurse who cared for the twins when they were in the hospital, was among the guests. “I’m really excited to see them and meet their entire family,” she said on GMA. “I now adore them. They’re like family to me.”

Their mother stated that “everything is good” now that they are out of the hospital and back at home.

According to Cook Children’s Hospital Center, the procedure that separated JamieLynn and AmieLynn three months after they were born took 11 hours to perform.

More than a dozen medical specialists were on the team, including four pediatric surgeons, three anesthesiologists, and two plastic surgeons — one for each girl.

According to the hospital, AmieLynn also required special care while recovering from a separate chest surgery.

Nevertheless, in the months since the twins were separated, a lot has changed. Despite their mother’s claim that they “still need a lot of therapy,” multiple family members were able to hold them at the shower.

The kids’ parents told the outlet that they can already see their daughters’ personality shining through and are excited to see what happens next.

“It’s kind of like starting over,” father James Finley previously told NBC affiliate KXAS-TV.
“Surgery was one beginning, and now we’re returning home to another.”

Arciniega informed the hospital in a statement made after the twins were discharged, “it’s definitely a weight lifted.”

“I’m overjoyed and overjoyed,” the mother stated. “There are a lot of feelings.”
