Kelly claimed on her SiriusXM show Monday that she isn’t concerned about Carlson personally, and that he will benefit from the termination.

Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News personality, has spoken out regarding Tucker Carlson’s departure from the network as well as Don Lemon’s departure from CNN.

Kelly, 52, was candid in her opinion on Monday’s edition of SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show, saying, “This is a terrible move by Fox,” adding, “It’s a terrific thing for Tucker Carlson.”

“I’m not sure what compelled Fox News to make this decision, and it was definitely Fox News’ decision since they’re not allowing him to say goodbye,” she stated. “This, in my opinion, is a huge mistake. This, I believe, is a huge miscalculation of what their audience wants.”

Kelly went on to infer that Carlson’s departure was related to the recently resolved Dominion litigation, in which Carlson, 53, was prominently involved.

Dominion Voting Systems, a voting equipment firm, filed a $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, alleging massive election fraud and other misconduct.

“Why is Maria Bartiromo [at Fox] there if this is a reaction to the Dominion lawsuit? Why is Jeanine Pirro still in the building? Why is Suzanne Scott still in the building?” Kelly inquired. “The Fox News CEO. Her executive emails stressing about Dominion and the audience got them far more in trouble than anything Tucker did behind the scenes.”

“I understand why the left despises Tucker’s guts. I understand that this is a happy day for them “She stated. “Yet, at least under Roger Ailes, Fox always had the sense of how to disregard those criticisms and do what was best for the channel, its viewers, and the truth.”

Carlson’s next move, she prophesied, would be, “This is fantastic news for Tucker. I’m not concerned about Tucker in the least. Tucker, I predict, will strike off on his own. Tucker begins a podcast or digital show and completely dominates it.”

“Many people believe he will run for office. No, I don’t believe so. I just don’t believe it. Tucker wields far more power behind the microphone than he does on the debate stage.”

Kelly, who retired from Fox News in 2017, claimed, “Tucker is the sole reason that many people continue to watch Fox News. In terms of my other coworkers, he’s their favorite.”

The network revealed on Monday morning that “Tucker Carlson and FOX News Media have agreed to separate ways. We applaud him for his contributions to the network, both as a host and previously as a contributor.”

Carlson’s farewell show aired on Friday. On Monday evening, Fox News Tonight will air as an interim show hosted by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is found.

Kelly also expressed support for CNN’s Don Lemon, who was fired from his network in a statement Monday that startled not only viewers but also Lemon, who said his agent was entrusted with informing him of the news.

“After 17 years at CNN, you’d think someone in management would have had the decency to notify me directly,” he tweeted.

“He is not mistaken. I mean, everyone knows I’m not exactly a fan of Don Lemon, but if that’s true, that he was just told by his agent that he was fired and they didn’t have the courage to tell him man-to-man, he’s not wrong “Kelly expressed her thoughts. “I mean, that’s just awful. He has the right to be upset about it.”

But, shortly after Lemon’s tweet, CNN reacted to the line of events.

“Don Lemon’s statement about the events of this morning is incorrect,” CNN Communications tweeted. “He was promised a meeting with management but instead issued a statement on Twitter.”
