Emma’s birthday comes only weeks after she asked paparazzi to “keep their space” from her husband, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia last month.

Emma Heming Willis, Bruce Willis’ wife, is experiencing a range of emotions as the actor celebrates his first birthday since being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

On Sunday, the Die Hard icon turned 68, and his wife shared her thoughts on her Instagram Story.

“My husband’s birthday is today. As evidenced by my swollen eyes and runny nose, I began the day crying “She started. “I just think it’s vital that you look at everything.”

“‘Oh, you’re so strong,’ I always get this message or others tell me. I’m not sure how you do it.’ I don’t have a choice, “Emma, 44, elaborated. “I wish I could, but I’m also raising two children.”

“Sometimes in our life, we need to pull on our big girl pants and get to work. That’s exactly what I’m doing “She went on. “But I have pain and anguish every day, and I’m really experiencing it today, on his birthday.”

“I was working on this [upcoming] reel for my husband’s birthday. I’m not sure why I do that to myself since the videos cut like a dagger through my heart “Emma spoke out.

“But I do it for you as much as I do for myself because I know how much you adore my husband,” she said to fans before pausing to tell herself, “Don’t weep, Emma.”

“But that means so much to me, so thank you,” she says at the end of the video.

Later that day, Emma shared a heartfelt collection of family home movies.

“He is nothing but love. He is adored. And I’ll always love him. Happy Birthday, my dear My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers, for his sensitive Pisces soul will sense it. Thank you for loving and caring for him as well “She captioned the photo.

Scout Willis also celebrated her famous father’s birthday on Instagram on Sunday.

Scout, 31, opened her statement with, “It’s his birthday so send all of your love, tenderness, care, and prayer his way for a moment!” after posting a flashback photo of herself on her father’s shoulders as a toddler.

“Happy birthday to one of my greatest friends, the Pisces king, the master of duality, both action hero icon and gentle girl father,” she added. “What a blessing to have this man as my father and learn so much from him about life, laughter, mischief, and art.”

Scott continued, “I’m trying to be with both today,” saying that her father’s birthday “is not necessarily an easy day, because it’s a day full of so deep love, and our pain really does show us the depth of our devotion for someone.”

“Grief is always a price I’ll pay to know what it’s like to feel such love,” she continued. “I’m sending love to everybody who has ever felt strained by the grandeur of love and the humanity of sadness. I adore you.”

Bruce’s birthday comes only weeks after Emma requested paparazzi to “keep their space” from her husband when he goes out with friends or family, adding that it is enough “stressful” to go out into the world and handle it securely.

She went on to say that there is still a lot of “education” needed about how to treat those with dementia.

“I know this is your job, but keep your space,” woman says in the video. “Please don’t yell at my spouse or ask him how he’s doing. But don’t do the woo-hooing and yippee-ki- yay’s. Let him some breathing room. Allow our family or whoever is with him that day to safely transport him from point A to point B. That concludes my PSA.”

Bruce’s milestone event isn’t the only joyous occasion in the family; Rumer Willis, his eldest daughter, held her baby shower on March 11 with family and friends.

The pregnant House Bunny actress and her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas performed at the exclusive event and posed for photos with the whole Willis family, including all four of Rumer’s sisters, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and Emma. Bruce was not photographed during the event.

Moore shares Rumer, 34, Scout, and Tallulah Willis, 29. He has Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8, with Emma.

When the actor’s family confirmed his FTD diagnosis last month, they stated in a joint statement, “Bruce has always found joy in life, and he has taught everyone he knows how to do the same. It meant everything to see that level of caring reflected back to him and to all of us. We have been moved by your affection for our loving husband, father, and friend at this trying time.”

“Your continuing compassion, understanding, and respect will allow us to assist Bruce in living the fullest life possible,” they concluded.
