Barbra Streisand, the iconic singer and actor, has always been unafraid to speak her mind, even at the age of 81. With a powerful voice and a strong belief in democracy, she continues to champion her values and express her concerns about the state of the nation. Streisand’s latest focus is former president Donald Trump, whom she vehemently opposes. In fact, she has made it unequivocally clear that if he were to be elected again in 2024, she would leave the country.

Streisand has long been an outspoken supporter and fundraiser for the Democratic party. Her contempt for Trump is well-documented, branding him as “so stupid” and “ill-informed,” and even going so far as to refer to him as “the Liar in Chief, the Groper in Chief.” During a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, she boldly stated, “I can’t live in this country if he becomes president.”

This is not the first time Streisand has made such a dramatic declaration. Like many other celebrities, she threatened to leave the United States when Trump was first elected in 2016, joking, “America was great – before you were elected.”

Streisand’s frustration with Trump led her to channel her emotions into her music. In 2018, she released her 36th album, “Walls,” which serves as a powerful tribute to her opposition to Trump’s leadership. The album features notable tracks like “Don’t Lie to Me,” reflecting her outrage and dedication to standing up against deception. Through her music, she aims to express her discontent and urge the country to embrace truth.

In her memoir, “My Name is Barbra,” Streisand delves into the relationship between politicians and artists. She strongly believes that artists have the power to serve as a nation’s conscience, challenging society to confront uncomfortable truths. Streisand boldly declares, “That’s why art is the enemy of tyrants and dictators.”

Despite Streisand’s influence and efforts, her voice alone was not enough to sway the voting population in 2016. Trump was elected, leaving celebrities like Streisand facing a difficult decision – whether to leave the country or stay and fight for change. While some, such as comedian George Lopez and talk show host Jon Stewart, made light-hearted jokes about leaving for other countries or planets, others, like Chelsea Handler, recognized the importance of their platforms and voices in a divided nation.

After four years of darkness under the Trump administration, Streisand finds hope in President Joe Biden. She admires his compassion, honesty, and integrity, believing that the country is heading in the right direction. However, she remains concerned about the upcoming elections and the potential return of Trump to power. Streisand is resolute in her decision not to live in a country led by someone she considers “so stupid” and “so ill-informed.”

Ultimately, Streisand envisions a new America – one that is free from pollution, obscenities, insults, and revenge. She calls for the restoration of the nobility of truth, firmly believing that only then can America truly be great again.
