Vance Challenges CBS’s Margaret Brennan Over Tulsi Gabbard Commentary

On CBS, host Margaret Brennan engaged in a heated discussion with Vice-President J.D. Vance, challenging his support for Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination for Director of National Intelligence.

J.D. Vance Defends Tulsi Gabbard’s Nomination

During the CBS program, Vance stood firmly behind Gabbard, expressing his belief that traditional conservative media outlets have lost touch with the public’s sentiments.

Margaret Brennan posed a tough question to Vance: “The Wall Street Journal and the National Review, well-known conservative publications, have criticized Tulsi Gabbard.

The Review described her as ‘an atrocious nominee who deserves to be defeated.’ They equated her defense of Edward Snowden to an attorney general who sympathizes with the mob.

Furthermore, her dismissal of U.S. intelligence reports on Assad was likened to a nominee for OMB Director who can’t count. Does any of this worry you about her ability to head the U.S. intelligence community? Yes or no?”

Vance didn’t waver in his response. “No, Margaret, these are outlets that, in my view, have lost their influence. They consistently opposed Donald J. Trump. But they don’t decide who the president is—the American people do. And it is Trump who determines his cabinet, not these media publications.”

Brennan Highlights the Role of the Senate

Brennan countered, “The Senate will ultimately decide her fate.”

Vance elaborated, “While the Senate provides its constitutional advice and consent, I am confident Tulsi Gabbard will be confirmed. It’s crucial to understand her background. She has served in the military with top-level classification for almost twenty years.”

He continued, “Tulsi has an impeccable service record and reputation. She’s poised to restore trust in our intelligence services, which have become overly bureaucratic and politicized. Proper intelligence services are essential for national safety, and I believe Tulsi is equipped to lead these reforms.”

Margaret Brennan interjected, “However, she has expressed distrust in these intelligence services.”
