Release of the 911 Call Related to Gene Hackman’s Death

The acting world and fans around the globe are mourning the loss of Gene Hackman, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, who were found deceased in their Santa Fe, New Mexico home this past Wednesday.

The couple, aged 65 and 95, showed no visible signs of trauma, leaving the cause of their deaths under investigation. Recently, CNN released the audio of a 911 call made by their caretaker that has shed some light on the shocking discovery.

Gene Hackman, a legendary actor cherished by millions, was more than just a film star in the eyes of his family. His granddaughter Annie, along with daughters Elizabeth and Leslie, expressed their deep sorrow in a heartfelt statement, noting how he was a beloved father and grandfather to them, despite his worldwide fame.

Authorities were quick to respond to the emergency at the Hackman household. Inside, an unsettling scene was found: Betsy Arakawa was discovered with medication scattered around her, lying in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Hackman’s body was located in a different part of the house, near the kitchen. Interestingly, investigators noted no signs of forced entry or robbery, with the front door left ajar. Additionally, one of their pets sadly also passed away, found in a bathroom closet, though two other dogs were found unharmed elsewhere in the home.

The initial investigation by the sheriff’s department does not suspect foul play in the couple’s deaths, though the inquiry remains open.

A search warrant prompted by a Santa Fe detective suggests that some aspects of the case are suspicious enough to warrant a detailed investigation, especially since the home’s front door was unlocked and open.

Vital to resolving this tragic mystery are the pending autopsy and toxicology results, coupled with tests for any potential carbon monoxide presence in the home. Sheriff Adan Mendoza has reassured the public that, at this point, there is no clear indication of criminal activity or altercation within the house.

Both Hackman and Arakawa seem to have passed away some time before their bodies were found, and their caretaker made the 911 call upon discovering the situation. The caretaker’s distress was palpable during the call, urging for immediate assistance upon spotting the couple through a window.

Leslie Hackman, reflecting on the painful loss, has expressed in a conversation with the Daily Mail that her father appeared to be in good health prior to his passing.

Leading an active lifestyle, Hackman regularly practiced yoga and Pilates, which contributed to his physical well-being. She has not ruled out the possibility of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, though initial examinations have not detected leaks or pipe issues.

The family is grappling with this unexpected tragedy, yearning for answers in an event that has left them heartbroken.
