🍽️ Easy Recipe for Tender and Tasty Fried Liver
Looking for a quick and delicious way to prepare liver that turns out soft, flavorful, and perfectly golden every time? This simple pan-fried liver recipe with caramelized onions is just what you need. Perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner — and it’s ready in no time!
Ingredients:
Liver – 500 g (about 1.1 lbs)
Onions – 2 medium
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Flour – 6 tablespoons
Sunflower oil for frying – as needed
Instructions:
Peel the onions and slice them into medium-sized rings. Separate the rings.
Add a little oil to a skillet, place the onions inside, and start heating them over medium heat.
Rinse the liver well under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. On a cutting board, slice the liver into thin strips, about 1 cm (½ inch) thick. Remove any membranes or veins.
In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt. Coat each liver slice in the flour mixture, shake off the excess, and place them in the skillet on top of the sautéed onions. Lower the heat to medium and add more oil if necessary.
Fry the liver for about 1–1.5 minutes, then flip each piece without disturbing the onions. Because the liver sits on the onions instead of touching the hot pan directly, it won’t burn and instead absorbs the sweet, rich flavor of the sautéed onions.
Fry until the second side is golden, then gently mix the liver with the onions. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 15–20 seconds.
Remove from heat, transfer to a plate, top with some of the fried onions, and serve warm.
Enjoy your meal!
