Donald and Melania Trump: Are They Out of Sync?

As the pens of history scribbled another chapter at the presidential inauguration, January 20 was a day when all eyes turned to Capitol Hill.

It marked the start of Donald Trump’s second term as President. Among various events of the day, a certain moment involving Donald and Melania Trump attracted a lot of attention.

During the inauguration, there was a moment that seemed to capture everyone’s interest. Melania appeared to turn away from her husband as he leaned in for a kiss.

This act left many discussing whether it was accidental or deliberate avoidance on Melania’s part.

The couple had arrived at the traditional church ceremony that marks the beginning of the day’s festivities. Following this was Trump’s significant inauguration speech, made right after taking his oath.

Amidst the formalities, Trump’s attempt at a public kiss fell flat as Melania turned her face away, thwarting his effort.

This sparked a plethora of online speculation and opinion, leaving folks pondering if this was an intentional move by Melania or merely an unplanned incident caught on camera.

Body language expert Judi James offered some insights into the situation, commenting on what the so-called “dodge” might imply. She observed that Trump came to the inauguration with what she described as a “slow alpha presence” and a “mouth shrug smile,” signaling a grim yet resolute attitude.

James noted that as Trump arrived, he held Melania’s hand in what could be described as a romantic, ceremonial gesture. “Then he leaned in for a kiss,” she recounted, “and for an instant, it seemed like he went for a lip-to-lip connection.”

However, Melania instead turned her face slightly, indicating a preference for a cheek kiss while also leaning towards him, creating a moment marked by a two-way interaction.

James interpreted this as a possible reflection of their “synchronicity” being somewhat mismatched, describing it as a significant moment. While this was unfolding, Melania’s choice of dress was being critiqued by online commentators, some describing her unusual ensemble as overly somber for an occasion celebrating Trump’s return to the White House.

Dressed in a high-necked outfit paired with a dark boater hat that cast shadows on her face, Melania’s ensemble drew remarks comparing her appearance to an archetypal “mob wife at a funeral.”

There is speculation suggesting that Melania may not fully reside in the White House during Trump’s second term. It is rumored she plans to split her time between Washington and New York, where her and Donald’s son, Barron, is currently schooling.

As for Trump’s inauguration speech, it was predictably spirited and brimming with ambitious pledges.

On the very first day, he proposed launching the largest deportation program in American history, vowing to remove “criminals” promptly from the country. He declared, “We will incarcerate these villains and expel them swiftly. I will rescue every community that has been overtaken.”

Additionally, Trump vowed to look into granting pardons for numerous individuals involved in the January 6, 2021 Capitol unrest, and to declassify certain government documents related to the assassinations of JFK and Martin Luther King Jr.

Trump’s plans also include terminating federal support for schools that teach what he termed “inappropriate” subjects and expressed his wish to repeal birthright citizenship, although this could prove challenging due to its constitutional protection.

As NPR reported, Trump stated, “On my first day, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for schools pushing critical race theory, transgender education.”
